A delegation of 60 people from Thuringia, led by Minister President Bodo Ramelow in his capacity as President of the Bundesrat, traveled to Chile this autumn. The trip focused on renewable energy, mining and university collaborations. A delegation led by Economics Minister Wolfgang Tiefensee visited India and held successful discussions on various issues, including Thuringian companies hiring vocational trainees from the Gedee Technical Training Institute (Coimbatore). A trip to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan opened up other attractive possibilities as well. Its aim was to explore Central Asia as an economic region and develop existing options even further. Next on the calendar is a delegation trip to Thuringia’s most important export market: Thuringia’s State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Dr. Katja Böhler, will travel to the US, visiting Texas, California and the leading trade fair Photonics West 2023 from January 29 to February 3.
