During the next three years, Storck will put more than EUR 80 million into expanding its plant in Thuringia, which currently employs about 1,200 people. A further 170 jobs will be created, and the factory will have a capacity of 113,000 metric tons of finished goods per year, or about a fifth more than at present. “Storck is constantly investing in Thuringia and has become a major stimulus and employer in the region,” says Minister of the Economy Uwe Höhn, adding that the growth also shows that Thuringia is a very attractive place to do business and is really holding its own.
As early as 1993 the Storck Group has located in Ohrdruf and has invested more than EUR 400 million into its facility up to 2011. The expanded plant will become the main place where Storck makes chocolate products above all for the delivery to its branch offices in Halle/Westphalia and Berlin. (gro)
