Arnstadt - MDC Technology GmbH, a wholly owned Daimler AG subsidiary, began work in Arnstadt in mid-June, finishing crankcases for Mercedes-Benz at its new factory in the ‘Erfurter Kreuz’ industrial estate. Nanoslide technology makes the engines lighter and reduces friction, producing significant fuel savings. Daimler
invested around €90 million in the new factory, which employs 80 people.
Ilmenau - Thai investor RMA Group is putting more money into its subsidiary Binz-Ambulance- und Umwelttechnik GmbH in Ilmenau. After taking over the special vehicles manufacturer last year, RMA is planning further investments that will generate up to 100 new jobs.
