W.O.M. World Of Medicine GmbH, the world leader in some areas of Minimally Invasive Surgery, has established a new production facility in Thuringia. The Med-Tech manufacturer plans to invest up to 10 million euros and create 14 highly skilled jobs (this number should rise to 100 in the coming years) in the city of Sonneberg. This investment shows that Thuringia, as a premium business location in the heart of Europe, continues to attract foreign businesses and despite the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic offers great conditions for international companies.
WOM, part of the Massachusetts based and globally active Novanta Group, provides pioneering medical technology that helps surgeons around the world perform surgical procedures with only minor incisions. Products include cameras, insufflators, and pump systems, instruments for endoscopic vessel harvesting, as well as tubing systems. The new production site in South Thuringia will be the second facility that WOM operates in Germany and that should help the company achieve their growth targets.
