Nordhausen - Thuringian crankshaft manufacturer Feuer powertrain GmbH & Co. KG is to invest more than EUR 60 million. The company will extend its head office in Nordhausen and build its first production line outside Germany in Tunica, Mississippi. On completion of the projects, Feuer powertrain, whose customers include BMW, Chrysler, Ferrari, Jaguar, MAN and Volkswagen Group, will be able to manufacture at least 2.5 million crankshafts a year.
Eisenach - On the back of a major order worth EUR 132 million from General Motors China at the end of last year, MITEC Automotive AG is to invest around EUR 10 million in automation technology and production machinery for its parent plant in Eisenach.
Sondershausen - WAGO Kontakttechnik GmbH & Co. KG, an international provider of electrical interconnect and automation solutions, is to expand its premises in Sondershausen at a cost of more than EUR 25 million. By spring 2015, it will have erected a new office building, extended its logistics center and invested in new tools, plant and machinery.
Eisfeld/New York - Harry’s, a young United States online retailer of razor blades, has bought Feintechnik GmbH Eisfeld for USD 100 million.
The start-up hopes that adding the well-established German company will help it break into the worldwide razor blade market in style and quickly find its feet.
