The Arab Health as second-largest health trade fair in the world is a must especially for Thuringian companies from the health sector wanting to get a firmer foothold in markets throughout the Arab world and Asia. For several years now Thuringia International has been assisting companies by offering a shared stand. This year, 12 companies profited from this offer and presented their portfolio. “The number of exhibitors from Thuringia has increased each year since the first time we had a presence here, in 2010,” says the Chairman of LEG Thüringen, Andreas Krey.
The Photonics West, too - the biggest photonics trade fair and conference in North America - has become a permanent fixture on the calendar for many Thuringian companies. The 29 Thuringian firms involved in this year’s trade fair represent almost a quarter of the German contingent at the fair. Alongside the trade fair, Thuringia Invest organized an exclusive investors’ dinner for managers of big-name optics companies including Intel’s photonics branch. Representatives from institutes and companies from Thuringia including the Fraunhofer IOF Jena, Orafol Fresnel Optics GmbH and the president of OptoNet Thuringia, Martin Bitzer, were on hand to discuss what is happening in the fields of optics and photonics. The talks centered on the advantages of Thuringia as a business location and the key role played by the city of Jena for the German and international optics industries. (gro)
