The sessions that the team organized to inform foreign companies about the advantages Thuringia has to offer were well attended. The 20 or so Danish companies represented at the event in Copenhagen at the beginning of June were particularly interested in the investment opportunities currently available to foreign companies. “Above all the central location at the heart of the German market and strong company clusters are in demand,” confirms LEG Project Manager Susann Martens.
Uwe Patschinsky, Managing Director of SBS Deutschland GmbH in Eisenach, spoke about what experiences of a Danish entrepreneur in Thuringia can look like. Part of Danish SBS group, leading specialist in brakes for motorcycles and cars in Europe, his company distributes spare parts for cars and supplies specialized wholesale customers in Germany and throughout Europe with focus on Eastern Europe. He said Thuringia’s excellent transport links as well as the long tradition in automobile manufacturing made it an attractive location. Seminars for investors in Vienna, Austria, and Parma and Marghera, Italy, were equally fruitful. (kö)
