Docter Optics invested approximately EUR 14 million in its Thuringia location by building a new factory, construction of which was completed in only 10 months. 70 jobs for skilled workers have been created thanks to this expansion. Docter Optics produces mainly lenses for vehicle headlights, light tunnels for photovoltaic applications, glass components and optic and optomechanical assemblies for the European, North American and Asian markets.
Medical technical company TRUMPF invested approximately EUR 12 million in expansion. A new gate and production hall have been constructed on the TRUMPF grounds and an existing production hall has been extended. The company, specialist in manufacturing operating tables, patient transport systems and patient positioning systems, has been acquired by the US American medical technology firm Hill-Rom Holdings, Inc., Batesville/Indiana in mid-June.
